The construction of the mutt is nearing completion and will be ready in a couple of weeks.

The Maha Samprokshanam of Sri Brahmatantra Swatantra Parakala Swamy Mutt is scheduled on 1st July 2010 to 3rd July 2010.

H.H. will be arriving on 25th June 2010. The Tirunakshatram of Srimad Sri Krishna Brahmatantra Swatantra Parakala Maha Desikan will be performed on 29th June 2010 in the newly constructed mutt complex. H.H. will be in the city for few days after Samprokshanam.



All are requested to attend all the functions in large numbers and receive the blessings of Lord Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva, Sri Venkateshwara, Sri Mahalakshmi & His Holiness.

Sri Hayagriva Avataram:

The avataram of Hayagriva Bhagavan took place to restore the Vedas to Brahma. Emperumaan had taught Brahma the creation through his breath of Vedas. Then, Brahma could understand how various kalpams had begun due to Emperumaan's Vedopadesam. He became extremely proud of his position as the creator and about his powers/gnanam. Sriman Narayana as usual wanted to teach him and decided to remove his (Brahma's) pride. A couple of water droplets from the lotus seat of the Lord incarnated two Asuras, Madhu and Kaitabha. Due to Bhgawath sankalpam, one (kaitapan) was of thamo guna and the other (madhu) was of rajo guna. They stole the Vedas from Brahma, and Emperumaan smiled.


Unable to carry on his work of creation without the Vedas, Brahma rushed to the Lord and pleaded the Lord Narayana for mercy and saving Vedas. Brahma prostrated to the Lord and said:


"Vedas alone are my eyes; they are my wealth; They are my Lord. The whole world is surrounded by darkness due to the absence of Vedas. How am I to proceed on creation of world without the Vedas ? Please arise from the Yoga nithra and help me Lord! Please give me back my eyes which have been blinded by my own pride."

Lord Narayana incarnated as Hayagriva, white Horse faced, faultless sphatika hued form, satva mUrthy, with Divya tEjas, and lustrous form and destroyed the Asuras and restored the Vedas to Brahma. This avtaaram was made on a AvaNi month, sravaNa nakshthram paurNami thithi. With a lovely long nose, like the heaven surrounded by white bright stars, the asva siras (head of horse) illumined the whole world. The upper world and the lower world became His ears. The rays of Sun's brightest lustres are His hairs at the nape of His neck (pidari). BhUmi became His forhead; Ganga and Saraswathi became two lovely eyebrows; Chandra Sooryar (The Moon and the Sun) became His two eyes; SandhyA dEvathai became His nostrils; Pithru devathAs became His teeth; GolOkam and Brahma lOkam became His two lips; kalaraathri became His neck; The Divya tEjas Sathva mUrthy Sri Hayagreevan thus, in a grandest beautiful manner appeared. He rushed to PaathaaLa lOkam and raised His "uthGitham" in samavEdha swaram and terrified Madhukaitapa asurAs; They hid the VedhAs (which were in the form of babies) and ran away from the scene. Sri Hayagreevar handed over the Vedas to BrahmA and went back. Madhukaitapar searched for the sound which terrified them earlier but found the Vedas missing. They rushed to BrahmA who in turn was terribly scared and sought the help of Sriman Narayanan. Sri Hayagreevar fought with asurAs and killed them. BrahmA continued his work of creation.

History:
The Swayambhu Vigraha of Sri Lakshmi Hayagriva was given to Goddess Saraswathi by Lord Brahma for worship. Goddess Saraswathi who also gained knowledge from Lord Hayagriva in turn gifted the idol to Bhagavad Ramanuja when she bestowed him with the title "Sri Bhaskara". After him, the iodol was worshipped by Sri Nigamantha Maha Desika. This great sage established a mutt at Kanchipuram in service of the Lord in 1338A.D and proclaimed Visishtadwaita.

Vedanta Desika started his scholarly outporings numbering more than hundred with the stuti of Lord Lakshmi Hayagriva, the Lord of Wisdom. The first sloka of the stuti goes as follows:

Gnananda mayam devam nirmala sphatikaakritim,
Addharam sarva vidhyanam, Hayagrivam upasmahe.

The glorious and honoured practice of worshipping Lord Hayagriva was handed over to Sri Brahmatantra Swami. Since then, the idol is being worshipped by the lineage of the Acharyas of Sri Prakala Mutt with utmost devotion and without letup. Some of the most illustrious Acharyas of this Mutt happen to be from AP. The present pontiff of Sri Parakala Mutt , H.H. Srimad Abhinava Vageesha Swamy, is 36th in the order.

The present Pontiff H.H Srimad Abhinava Vageesha Swamy has visited Hyderabad many times and expressed his desire to construct a Mutt here along with Sri Hayagriva Sannidhi. He disclosed that this is as per the wish of his Guru H.H. Srimadabhinava Ranganatha Maha Desika, who hailed from AP and was a scholar extraordinaire. H.H. Swamiji has constituted a committee consisting of Sishyas and well wishers of the mutt. H.H. Swamiji has oradained the committee to expedite the construction and complete all the works so soon as possible.

Dr.V. Sampath, an ardent devotee of the mutt was kind enough to donate a piece of land measuring 1300sq.yards at Medipally village Uppal in the outskirts of the city for this purpose. After taking over the land, as per the instrunciosns of our present Swamiji, construction was started. The main temple complex(80'x40'),
the annex building having 3 floors of 1200sq.ft. each for accomodation of the pontiff and others are almost nearing completion.

In temple complex, it is planned to install the iodls of Lord Lakshmi Hayagrivar, Lord Srinivasa and Godess Mahalakshmi, Garudalvar and Anjeneya. Some disciples of the mutt volunteered to sponcer all the iodls. Many more people have added their contributions generously. In order to complete the construction of the mutt and for the maintainance generous donations are required....
